Policy Development
Inter-ed has worked internationally on the development of policies. These have
included working on labour market, social inclusion, education, training, local
economic development, fisheries, and science and technology policies in countries
as diverse as Scotland, Canada, Namibia, South Africa, The Marshall Islands,
The Philippines and others.
Good policy development requires a strong set of skills in research analysis,
environmental scanning, opportunity analysis, creative thinking, judgment and
decision skills, evaluation skills and integrated development.
In policy development work we act as facilitators and consultants, typically
focusing on breaking down barriers to understanding and development, developing
policy options, and assisting clients to come to rational policy choices.
Our policy development work may utilise some of the skills described under
the sections on Evaluation Studies, Specialist
Training, and Organisation Development.
